How a Macro Approach Contributes to the Design Process of a Visual Brand Identity
As a graphic designer with a passion for developing brand identities that align perfectly with a company's objectives, my approach is focused on the macro technique.
But what does that mean exactly? It starts with a comprehensive conversation where I map out the short- and long-term goals of the company. This gives me a good understanding of what the company wants to convey and where it wants to go. Then, I start creating "landscapes". These include typography, color palette, and mockups. Mockups are an essential part of the process because they give the client a realistic view of how the identity will look in practice. This includes banners, web pages, business cards, and more.
Through these mockups, the client can make concrete choices and better visualize how the identity will look in practice. This enhances client involvement and facilitates a smoother design process. Additionally, it creates a genuine brand experience, which is crucial for the brand's long-term success.
In my experience, the macro technique helps streamline and optimize the design process of a visual brand identity. By collaborating on the mockups, a clear picture of the final identity emerges. This provides clear direction and makes it easier to develop the visual brand identity. With this approach, creating a brand identity becomes a smoother, more efficient, and more enjoyable process for both the designer and the client.
